Practical Learning.
Real Impact.
At LYFT CIC — Live Your Future Today — I work with individuals, teams, organisations and communities to recognise their potential, build their capability and take positive action.
Coaching provides the time and space to step back, explore challenges and consider new possibilities. It can help you make sense of a situation, recognise your strengths, challenge existing thinking and identify the changes that will make a difference.
I work with individuals and groups to explore their goals, address barriers and develop practical ways forward. This might involve personal development, leadership challenges, career decisions, managing relationships or finding a better balance in life.
My approach is supportive, focused and action-oriented. Rather than providing all the answers, I help you ask the right questions, examine different perspectives and identify the choices available to you.
The emphasis is on reflection, clarifying your goals and taking action. Together, we identify realistic next steps, build confidence and develop the habits and skills needed to make progress.
"My aim is to help you understand your potential,
take ownership of your decisions
and move forward with greater clarity and confidence"
Learning is most valuable when it challenges our thinking, develops our understanding and gives us something practical to take away and use.
LYFT offers workshops and development programmes for individuals, teams and organisations. Sessions are designed around the needs of the people taking part, combining discussion, shared experience, practical exercises and opportunities to reflect on how learning can be applied in everyday situations.
Programmes I have developed include:
What Makes Me, Me?
An eight-stage programme designed to help you understand yourself better, develop greater self-awareness and, armed with that knowledge, move forward with greater confidence and belief in yourself.
Fit for Life
A programme that explores different areas of life and wellbeing, demonstrating how small, manageable changes can bring meaningful benefits to your health, mindset and everyday life.
I also deliver workshops and sessions covering leadership and team development, communication skills and managing challenging situations. I'm equally happy to develop bespoke programmes around specific organisational priorities or the challenges facing a particular group.
Workshops provide an opportunity to explore ideas and develop skills, while longer programmes allow participants to build on their learning, test new approaches and reflect on progress over time.
I aim to create an environment where people feel able to contribute, question established thinking and learn from one another. The emphasis is on participation rather than simply delivering information.
"My objective is straightforward: to develop knowledge, confidence and practical skills that people can use to improve their own performance and contribute more effectively to their teams and organisations"
Organisations succeed through people. Clear direction, effective leadership, good communication and the ability to work together all contribute to stronger performance and lasting results.
LYFT works with organisations to understand their challenges, identify opportunities for improvement and work with the team to create practical approaches to achieving their objectives. This may involve reviewing strategy, strengthening leadership and management, improving team effectiveness, enhancing communication or supporting people through change.
My background in business consultancy and senior management provides a practical understanding of the demands facing organisations. I recognise the importance of connecting strategic ambitions with the systems, skills and behaviours needed to deliver them.
The work begins by understanding the organisation, its people and its priorities. From there, we can identify what needs to change, agree realistic actions and develop the capability to put those changes into practice.
I believe that sustainable improvement comes from working alongside people, building on existing strengths and encouraging ownership of the process. Solutions need to be appropriate to the organisation, its resources and the environment in which it operates. After all, it is your business.
"My aim is to help organisations develop the clarity, capability and confidence to work more effectively, achieve their objectives and build a stronger foundation for the future"
I believe that lasting community development starts by recognising local knowledge, building on existing strengths and working in partnership with the people who understand their own challenges best.
Through LYFT CIC, I work alongside community organisations, NGOs, social enterprises and individuals to strengthen capability, develop ideas and explore practical ways to address local needs.
My work in Africa, including Ethiopia, Uganda and Lesotho, has reinforced the importance of listening, building trust, understanding the local culture and adapting support to local circumstances. The challenges can be complex, whether they relate to youth unemployment, education, wellbeing, exploitation, poverty or access to opportunities. Progress requires more than good intentions; it needs practical action, collaboration and a commitment to developing local capacity.
Support may include coaching and mentoring, organisational development, training, strategic planning, programme design and helping organisations identify opportunities to develop their work. The focus is on strengthening the people and organisations to make a difference that is right for them.
In Lesotho, this approach informs my work with local NGOs and the wider vision for community-based initiatives that connect learning, enterprise, wellbeing and opportunity.
I do not believe in arriving with all the answers. My role is to contribute experience, share knowledge, ask questions and work alongside others to develop approaches that can be owned and sustained locally.
"My ambition is to help people and organisations build the capability, confidence and connections to create better opportunities for themselves and their communities"
Across all four areas, the LYFT approach remains consistent: service, support and partnership.
Every individual, organisation and community has its own circumstances, strengths and ambitions.
My role is to help people recognise what is possible, develop the capability
and turn ideas and decisions into meaningful action.
