Lesotho -
The Kingdom in the Sky

In June 2025 LYFT CIC will be visiting Lesotho to provide business and personal development  workshops and coaching to a variety of organisations and individuals. What is different on this visit to an African country I have never to, I have partnered with 2 local trainers to organise a week-long mental awareness event for the community of Quthing in the south of the country. Click on 'Learn More' to  read more of the detail as well as an insight to this little known independent country.

To enable this event to take place and create a sustainable impact we are seeking funding of £2000 to support all the activities that are taking place. If you can contribute we would be extremely grateful. a justgiving page has been set up and the link is www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/lyftukcic

The Suicide Rate

Sadly, Lesotho has the highest rate of suicide in the world, some 9 times higher than any other country. Low employment, food shortages, challenging terrain, climate extremes in winter and summer all contribute to this depressing statistic.

26.2%

HIV prevalence

The country is actively working towards the UN's 95-95-95 targets, aiming to have 95% of people living with HIV know their status, 95% of those who know their status on treatment, and 95% of those on treatment virally suppressed by 2025. Sadly, 'Trumpism' has had a direct impact on these efforts.
